The Bourne Conspiracy video game is due in stores in North America on June 3rd for Xbox 360 and PS3.
WSBT News asks, "The biggest mystery about Sierra's forthcoming 'The Bourne Conspiracy' game: Why doesn't Jason Bourne look anything like Matt Damon?" Apparently, the answer to that question has a lot to do with the actor's personal taste in video games. "I lobbied hard (with Sierra) to not make a first-person shooter game but to make it more like 'Myst,' which was a great, interesting puzzle you tried to solve—you know, to play with his amnesia or his memory," Damon said. "They weren't interested. They made the video game anyway, without my likeness."
Rather than being based on any of the films, the upcoming game has an all-new story and allows players to control Bourne both as a government assassin and an international fugitive, reports Cinema Blend.
1UP reports that Matt Damon's video game alter ego executes some violent maneuvers that blow the Matrix's Neo's exploits out of the water. Neo's best moves seem tame "compared to shoving a pen up a guy's hand—a maneuver movie-goers saw Matt Damon perform in The Bourne Identity."
"The new demo became available yesterday in the U.S., New Zealand, Australia, and India, with a European release planned for next week. The PlayStation 3 version of the demo is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, with the rest of the PlayStation Network update," 1UP reports.
