Richard R. Missar, chief executive of DeSoto, died April 13, according to the Chicago Suburban Daily Herald. Missar served with the Marines in the Korean War and earned a degree at the Harvard Business School, He served as CEO and chairman of the board of DeSoto, the Des Plains, Ill., paint and chemical maker. He enjoyed golfing and gardening; he was father to three daughters and grandfather to eight children.
