Harrison Gass, 91
Professions: Vice president of manufacturing for Morse Shoe’s nine factories; opened Jonell Shoe in Lawrence, Mass., which manufactured inexpensive women's shoes, in the 1950’s; taught English to newly arrived Russian immigrants at the Hebrew College; intelligence officer in the Army Air Force during World War II.
Degrees: A.B. from Harvard, 1935 (enrolled at age sixteen).
Death: August 24, 2006, at his home in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, of end-stage cardiac disease.
