Joseph Hamilton, 86

Professions: Active in various businesses in Costa Rica, including an airline operation in Central America; founded Texfi Industries; personal secretary for J. Spencer Love, founder of Burlington Industries; fighter pilot aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise during World War II.

Degrees: S.B. from Harvard, 1942; M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, 1948.

Passions: At age 84, Hamilton renewed his pilot's license, making him one of the oldest pilots to do so.

Death: August 18, 2006, in San Jose, Costa Rica.
