Professions: Head of the directing program at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University for 20 years; director at Seattle Repertory Company, Washington’s Arena Stage, and on Broadway; artistic director of the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park from 1972 to 1974; actor in several on and off Broadway productions, receiving an Obie Award in 1959 for his performance in Genet’s “Deathwatch” and joining the Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center in 1964.
