Passions: Founding member of the Classic City Band in Athens, Georgia; member of Windjammers Unlimited, a circus music historical society (elected to the Windjammers Hall of Fame in 2000); played trombone in both these groups.
Death: July 19, 2006, while on vacation in Des Moines, Iowa.
