Alan P. Symonds, 59

Professions: Technical director of Harvard College Theatre Programs since 1993; founder and director of Harvard College’s Freshman Arts Program; worked on lighting for the original Woodstock festival and the Boston Ballet; designed lights to coax penguins into mating at the New England Aquarium; patented an original theater lighting system.

Degrees: A.B. ’69, Harvard.
