Professions: Architectural consultant; father to 15 adopted and foster children with physical or mental challenges; realizing that wheelchair competitions were only open to older competitors, became the founder of the Junior National Wheelchair Athletic Association. Passions: Avid reenactor and student of the Civil War. Perennial champion for the rights of disabled children. Awards: Shared the 2001 Congressional Angels in Adoption award with his wife, Diana.
