A Harvard professor inspired James Walker so much that he decided to leave Harvard. Realizing he wanted to become a teacher, he abandoned Cambridge to pursue a bachelor's in education from the University of Washington. The obituary in the Seattle Times describes Walker as an inspiration to the students at the schools where he taught and coached athletics. He also built his own house, married his high school sweetheart, painted, sculpted, carved, and wrote. He died on May 10, 2006.
