Austin L. Starrett, a retired professor of mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, died on May 5, 2006.
According to a family-placed death notice in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Starrett received an MA from Harvard after graduating from Dartmouth College. Although he lived out his adult years in the South, he was a New Englander to the core, born on a family farm house in South China, Maine, and raised in Athol, Massachusetts.
