Theodore Austin was not a man to settle for less. According to a death notice in the New Jersey Star Ledger , he was a provost of Union County College in Cranford and Scotch Plains, N.J., and an associate dean for hospitals at University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark. A major in the U.S. Army, he was also a lifelong student, receiving a diploma in nursing from Hudson River State Hostipal, a B.A. from Northwestern, a M.B.A. from Northeastern, an M.P.A. from Harvard, and an Ed.D. from Boston University. He is survived by his wife and five of his seven children.
