02138 puts Sam Yagan, co-founder of CrazyBlindDate.com, on the hot seat
Sam Yagan, founder of CrazyBlindDate.com
Why CrazyBlindDate.com?
My business partner, Chris Coyne, had a moment of inspiration at a bar. He realized people sign up for online dating sites because they want to go on a date right away.
Do crazy blind daters expect their dates to be crazy?
Expectations are pretty low.
Why do you blur the photos on the site?
Two reasons: It makes people curious, and if you saw a photo the date wouldn’t be blind.
Any surprises so far?
We’ve been very surprised by how many users are over 35. We even get a few in their sixties.
What’s the worst city for blind dating?
Boston is not adventurous. It’s been a huge disappointment.
Any tips on how to impress your date?
People get into trouble when they don’t talk enough or have low self-esteem. Don’t be self-deprecating.
Do you use the site?
No.
Why not?
My wife won’t let me.
