New Hope, PA: The Kinsey Sicks

Billed as “America's Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet,” the Kinsey Sicks is a unique mash-up of the Capital Steps, Rupaul and Divine--with a fabulous Harvard pedigree, too. The group was formed in 1993--following a Bette Midler concert, natch—by Ben Schatz, known onstage as “Rachel." In a previous life, Schatz was a civil rights lawyer and Director of the national Gay and Lesbian Medical Association; he authored the first national AIDS legal project as well as President Clinton's HIV policy during the ‘92 presidential campaign. Kinsey CDs include “I Wanna Be a Republican,” and “Sicks in the City.” A forthcoming documentary about the troupe, “Almost Infamous” premiers June 28 at San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre, but you can catch them live before that.

Sat. May 17: New Hope, PA
The Kinseys Perform "WTFUA" at "Sing Out Loud and Proud," a benefit for the Rainbow Room -- services for LGBTQA youth offered by Planned Parenthood of Bucks County. Doors open at 6 pm.
