When reporting on the scandal surrounding JAN ADAMS, the plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, before her death (Under the Knife,), ALLISON HOFFMAN made “a thousand unreturned phone calls.” When she finally interviewed several key sources, a story unfolded that Hoffman says illustrates “what can happen when smart, successful people get ahead of themselves.” A former reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Hoffman now lives and writes in San Diego.
